- THE CARPENTER LAW FIRM, PC, supports the Upstate South Carolina legal community through the involvement of its members in professional activities.
- James G. Carpenter is a founding member of the Greenville chapter of the Christian Legal Society, established in 1998. As a member of both the South and North Carolina State Bar Associations, Mr. Carpenter attends the Annual North Carolina South Carolina Employment and Labor Law Conference each year in October.
- Jennifer J. Miller was appointed by the President of the South Carolina Bar to serve on its Constitutional Law Committee for the 1998-1999 term. This Committee addresses constitutional issues in state legislation and will soon publish a complete volume of South Carolina's Constitutions and related legislative history.
